A hospital for emergency treatment and rehabilitation of wild Black Sea cetaceans has been opened in Anapa. This is stated in the VTB message.

The facility was the first of its kind in It was created by the Delphi Dolphin Rescue Center with the support of the Nature Conservationists Foundation and VTB financing. The new hospital will allow for the diagnosis, treatment and long—term rehabilitation of injured animals in safe conditions, and after recovery, they will be returned to the sea.

The hospital was built on the territory of the Nikolsky Mediterranean Turtle Temporary Detention, Rehabilitation and Reintroduction Center in Supseh. The main part of the complex is an indoor swimming pool measuring 10 by 6 meters and 2 meters deep with an innovative chlorine—free water treatment system. The pavilion will also be equipped with a laboratory for animal diagnostics, rooms for storing medical equipment and medicines, and a feed kitchen. A hydraulic lift is provided for moving large dolphins.

Before the hospital appeared, Delphi specialists provided assistance to seriously ill and weakened cetaceans directly on the shore or in shallow water. Such conditions significantly limited the possibilities of diagnosis and long-term treatment. Now animals that require inpatient care can be transported to an equipped hospital.

Creating the first in The construction of a full-fledged hospital became especially important after the fuel oil spill in the Kerch Strait in December 2024. In March 2025, VTB allocated 25 million rubles to eliminate the consequences of an environmental disaster.

Other partners in financing the cetacean hospital are the charity foundations Beautiful Children in a Beautiful World and the Protected Embassy.
