The SCO countries will develop a plan for the implementation of joint investment projects. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Economic Development following the first meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Association Investors Association in Astana.
The Russian Federation has sent the SCO countries the best national practices of targeted investor support measures – offset contracts and instruments for hedging interest rate and currency risks.
In addition, the Russian Federation has launched an initiative to bring together approaches to sustainable financing in the field of ESG ratings and non-financial risk assessment.
During the meeting, representatives of national financial institutions and departments discussed the current state of the investment climate in the region and outlined substantive steps to develop investment cooperation.
Following the meeting, the parties approved the work plan of the SCO Investors Association for 2025. The plan includes measures to identify existing barriers to cross-border investment activities, to present measures and mechanisms for government support, as well as to develop a step-by-step plan for the implementation of promising SCO investment projects to attract potential investors.
