Starting from December 1, 2026, the Moscow Stock Exchange plans to provide financial market participants with access to digital currency transactions. This is reported on the exchange's website.

The platform will become the first organized digital currency market in the Russian Federation, operating within the framework of the law "On Digital Currencies and Digital Rights". The key provisions of this regulatory legal act entered into force on September 1, 2026, and the introduction of separate regulations is scheduled for July and September 2027.

At the initial stage, it is planned to conduct pilot transactions with a phased admission of participants to bidding as they become technically and operationally ready.

Trading of digital currencies on the exchange will be conducted using exchange-traded stock market technologies and with the inclusion of such transactions in the unified clearing of the NCC.

At the initial stage, the list of traded instruments will include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Tether (USDT), available for transactions in both addressable and non-addressable modes.

In the future, it is planned to expand the range of circulating digital currencies and digital assets by integrating both international and Russian financial instruments.

From December 1, trading participants and their clients will have access to digital currency transactions with settlement codes TOD ("today") and TOM ("tomorrow"), as well as liquidity management tools, including swap transactions.
