The Government of the Russian Federation has approved the Energy Strategy of the Russian Federation until 2050. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, according to the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The document provides for measures aimed at accelerating the development of oil and gas refining, expanding the regional gasification program, and providing the domestic market with a sufficient amount of petroleum products at affordable prices for all categories of consumers.
A number of measures are aimed at accelerating the implementation of infrastructure projects and creating the conditions necessary to redirect supplies of oil, gas and refined products to new markets in friendly countries, increase oil transshipment capacities in Arctic and Far Eastern ports, and actively use the potential of the Northern Sea Route.
It is planned to accelerate the connection of the Power of Siberia and Sakhalin–Khabarovsk–Vladivostok gas transportation systems with a single gas supply system to meet the needs of the domestic market as a priority.
