Company qApp, a resident of Skolkovo (VEB Group.Russian Federation), together with C-Terra, have successfully completed a joint project to develop the first domestic quantum-resistant TLS gateway, a solution capable of protecting government and business network traffic from attacks using both classical and quantum computers.
The developed product is a pilot integration of the PQC GATE software solutions and the PQC SDK for qApp development into the TLS Gateway software and hardware complex of the S-Terra company. The solution provides advanced protection for web portals and corporate applications based on new generation cryptographic algorithms that are resistant to cyber attacks using both classical and quantum computers.
"The development of quantum and related technologies is one of the priorities of the Skolkovo Center for Digital Technologies. It is becoming a good trend that the participants in the ecosystem of the innovation center are trendsetters in the IT industry and produce products that are competitive not only in the Russian, but also in the international market. We are pleased to support our qApp resident in launching an innovative product that shapes the face of the industry," said Alexander Fetisov, Deputy Chief Managing Director, Director of the Center for Digital Technology Development at the Skolkovo Foundation (VEB.RF Group).
A quantum-stable TLS gateway includes three key components:
● TLS Gateway is a hardware and software package designed to protect access to corporate network resources, which provides TLS-based connection management and network protection of any scale;
● PQC GATE — client-server software for creating encrypted TCP tunnels using post-quantum cryptography;
● PQC SDK is a library of post-quantum algorithms for domestic implementation and tools that simplify their integration into the final solutions of business clients.
The solution allows you to organize a quantum-stable TLS tunnel connection using a TLS version with post-quantum algorithms of domestic implementation.
As part of the project, comprehensive tests of the integrated solution were carried out in a limited perimeter of information systems. Functional acceptance confirmed the product's compliance with all stated information security requirements.
"Every year we are getting closer to the risk of implementing effective quantum attacks. This project demonstrates the readiness of Russian technology companies for the challenges of the near future. The successful completion of the tests paves the way for the widespread introduction of quantum-resistant technologies into the Russian IT infrastructure after the adoption of relevant state standards," he said. Anton Guglya, CEO of qApp.
