The most powerful improved generative models of Yandex have become available in the chat with Alice — for free and without restrictions. Now everyone can solve personal, educational and work tasks using the Alice neural network: generate texts of different genres in Russian and English, find answers to questions, create images, use the reasoning mode and work with files. At the same time, the subscription to the "Pro" option was updated: in addition to games and quests for children, Live mode and other features, it has a feature for personalized communication with the neural network, which is unique in the Russian market.
Generation: texts, ideas, answers to questions
Using Yandex's powerful language model, you can create texts in various styles and formats, write code, complete math assignments, and solve other problems. She will explain complex things in simple words, help you understand a new topic and suggest an idea. And if you enable the search function, the model will use not only its knowledge, but also information from the Internet — the user will be able to find out which sources the answer was based on.
Previously, this language model was available only by subscription, but now it is open to everyone, and in an improved version. The updated version answers questions more fully and knows more about the world. To do this, the developers have increased the training dataset, improved its quality, and changed the process of teaching facts. According to measurements using the blind comparison method (Side by Side, SBS), the updated model responds better than the previous one in 65% of cases. And the number of cases when she evades the answer has decreased by almost a third. At the moment of peak load, instead of a powerful model, its lightweight version can be responsible, which will be reflected in the interface.
The mode of reasoning
In this mode, Alice's neural network solves the problem step by step: before answering a question, she builds a logical chain of reasoning. You can follow her train of thought in real time. This allows you to understand how the neural network came to its conclusions and see possible approaches to the problem. The reasoning mode is useful when solving complex multi—part tasks, for example, when you need to draw up a business plan or evaluate an investment project. And if you want to compare the data, you can ask Alice to provide the answer in the form of a table.
Image generation
You can now generate as many images as you want in a chat with Alice. The image is easy to download to use in social media or presentations. The function is based on the updated YandexART model. Compared to the previous version, it creates images of higher quality and with fewer defects.
Working with files
You can upload text files in PDF, TXT, DOC and DOCX formats to the chat with Alice. The neural network will be able to answer questions about their content, analyze the data, or make a concise retelling. For example, you can upload a file with respondents' answers to the chat so that Alice can prepare a report on them. Or give the neural network a scientific article so that it can make a synopsis or glossary.
The "Pro" option with new unique features
The "Pro" option has received another important update. Subscribers now have access to an exclusive personalized communication feature with Alice. The neural network will take into account what the user previously reported about himself in dialogues: for example, what he is interested in, what kind of cuisine he likes, what is the name of his dog. To receive personalized responses, you need to log in to On Yandex or to get acquainted with the neural network on a smart speaker or TV station. It's enough to say, "Alice, let's get to know each other."
As before, only subscribers can use the Live mode, which is based on the Yandex multimodal model (Visual Language Model, VLM). In this mode, users can ask the neural network about the objects they point the smartphone camera at. For example, if you point your camera at a ceiling mount and ask how to hang a chandelier, Alice will give you step-by-step instructions for this type of mount.
Educational quests and tasks for children, a virtual babysitter function, and an online simulator for practicing English are also available as part of the "Pro" option. On smart devices and in chat, the simulator turns on at the command "Alice, let's practice English", and all chat conversations are saved in convenient folders.
