The complex reconstruction of the stop point of the future MCD-4 has been completed in Moscow Ochakovo. It is fully ready for integration into the MCD-4, which will connect Aprelevka and Zheleznodorozhny by the end of summer this year.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and General Director – Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "Russian Railways" Oleg Belozerov got acquainted with the updated passenger infrastructure.
"Preparations for the opening of the new diameter of the MCD-4 are in full swing. By the beginning of the train movement, a significant part of the suburban stations of the fourth diameter will meet the new standards of Moscow transport, in terms of comfort, not inferior to metro stations. Ochakovo is the 15th modern railway station on the Kaluga direction of the Moscow Railway, which will become part of the MCD-4," Sergei Sobyanin said.
"This year is the year of the 20th anniversary of the Russian Railways Company. We are launching more than 20 new passenger facilities across the country. During the reconstruction of the stations, including Ochakovo, we will use all possible advanced domestic developments," Oleg Belozerov said.
During the reconstruction, two high island platforms have been erected here, on which all conditions have been created for passengers to comfortably wait for trains: canopies have been installed to protect against precipitation for the entire length of the platforms, navigation signs and train schedules, benches, emergency communication desks, etc.
In addition, an aboveground passenger lobby with an area of 2.1 thousand square meters was built, simultaneously performing the function of a concourse bridge that connected the platforms and two parts of the Ochakovo-Matveevskoye district of Moscow - towards Natasha Kovshova Street and Ochakov Park, as well as the passage of the Construction Plant.
Ticket offices and ticket printing terminals, turnstiles, sanitary rooms and an electronic scoreboard with train schedules are located in the lobby. The railwaymen took special care to organize traffic flows and create an accessible environment for all categories of passengers, including people with disabilities. During the construction work, 12 escalators and 4 elevators, modern navigation, automated passenger notification systems, LED lighting, specialized ticket offices with lowered windows and induction equipment, sanitary rooms, etc. are installed here.
Ochakovo station is also equipped with a seamless Wi-Fi system. Passengers, having logged in to the network once, get continuous access to high-speed Internet via Wi-Fi.
The updated stop point will provide a comfortable transfer from the railway to the ground urban passenger transport. In addition, it will relieve Michurinsky Avenue, Aminyevskoe Highway and General Dorokhov Avenue, as well as the adjacent road network from transit traffic flows.
