The modernization of the online scoreboard service has been completed in the Russian Railways Passengers mobile application. Thanks to the update, passengers have access to more complete and up-to-date information about train traffic at 163 train station complexes across the country.
Now, data about the trip, track and platform numbers, carriage numbering, and actual train movement are automatically imported from the Central Passenger Information System (CSIP). This allows you to display information in real time and increases the accuracy of passenger alerts at all stages of the trip.
Previously, this functionality was only available at 70 train stations. After the modernization, the geography of the service has expanded significantly, covering most of the largest railway station complexes in the country.
The update allows passengers to receive the necessary information about the trip in advance directly in the application, quickly track changes in train traffic and navigate the station more conveniently.
In addition, the Russian Railways Passengers app for the Android platform sends users special notifications about the imminent departure of long-distance trains if tickets have been issued through the service. The notifications contain information about the departure station, the time of departure of the train, the number of the car, the direction of the numbering of the cars in the train, and for the 163 largest stations, also the number of the track and/or departure platform. Notifications are received 60 and 30 minutes before departure according to the schedule, as well as in case of a change in the route number. To use the feature, you must allow the app to send notifications in your smartphone settings.
The development of digital services for passengers remains one of the key areas for improving the customer experience in railway transport. The integration of an online scoreboard with a Central Passenger Information System makes preparing for a trip easier, and staying at the train station more understandable and predictable.
