Russian Railways Holding continues to develop the ecosystem of digital services and expands the possibilities of buying commuter train tickets.
So, since July 14, the geography of the service for buying train tickets has been expanded using the national messenger "Maks". Passengers of 23 suburban passenger companies operating in 60 regions of the Russian Federation can now apply for tickets via the chatbot in Max.
At the same time, all existing ticket sales channels are preserved, including mobile applications, suburban ticket offices, self-service terminals, as well as a geolocation payment service.
The service provides passengers with a convenient and fast way to purchase one-time commuter train tickets at full cost without specifying seats.
Key functions of the chatbot:
- purchase of a full one-time ticket without specifying seats (no more than 5 in one order);
- purchase of receipts for bicycles, luggage and pets;
- viewing the order history;
- payment by bank card;
- barcode protection of purchased tickets.
The chatbot is intuitive for new users. The passenger needs to select a region and proceed to booking a ticket: select the date, departure and arrival station, train and type of ticket, then pay with a bank card. The received barcode (ticket for travel) will need to be used to pass through the turnstiles or shown to the ticket collector on the train.
The chatbot in the Maks messenger is a step towards a more comfortable and modern interaction with suburban transport. It is available 24/7 and does not require the installation of additional applications: it is enough to have a messenger on your mobile device.
Earlier, the opportunity to issue train tickets using the Maks messenger has already been implemented at the service ranges of suburban passenger companies of JSC North-Western CPC (St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Murmansk, Novgorod, regions and the Republic of Karelia), JSC Express-Prigorod (Novosibirsk region), JSC Omsk-Prigorod (Omsk Region), Kuzbass-Prigorod JSC (Kemerovo and Tomsk Regions, Altai-Prigorod JSC (Altai Territory) and Krasprigorod JSC (Krasnoyarsk Territory, Republic of Khakassia and Kemerovo Region). The service is popular and the demand for it is constantly growing.: Today, about 550 thousand tickets have already been issued using this service.
