A chat with an artificial intelligence-based assistant has appeared in the Yandex Market application. The market became the first in A Russian marketplace with this feature. The AI assistant will help the service's customers solve a variety of tasks without having to turn to other sources. The AI will select products based on the user's request, tell you about their advantages and compare them with similar ones. This allows customers to find the right product faster or figure out complex parameters, such as equipment.
For now, the Yandex.Market Assistant is operating in beta mode. His answers can be liked and disliked — feedback from users will help improve the quality of recommendations. The AI assistant works on the basis of the YandexGPT 5 Pro neural network, which experts have trained on data about marketplace products, including reviews. He already knows how to understand the characteristics of goods, can explain how one is better than the other, and also suggest alternatives. In their responses, the assistant takes into account the customer's preferences and gives them a personalized selection of products.
The customer can ask the chat assistant any questions about the marketplace's products: household appliances and electronics, clothing, sports equipment, and many others. In the dialog, the user can clarify their wishes, for example, ask them to choose a smartwatch that is best suited for running, or find out what material to choose a summer shirt from so that it won't be hot. You can open a chat with an assistant in the main navigation panel of the application. The buyer will be able to immediately ask questions about the product they like and quickly find offers with similar characteristics. The chat history with the assistant is stored for a limited time.
In the future, the Market assistant will help not only with information requests, but also with other tasks: from contacting the Market support service to collecting a child for school. Yandex also plans to launch AI assistants in other e-commerce services, including Food and a Shop. The Store is already testing its version of the assistant with artificial intelligence: it will introduce customers to the range of services, tell them what to order for breakfast or a recipe for a dish.
