The owner of the Lux Hotel (16.5 thousand square meters) opposite the Moscow City Hall on Tverskaya Street has changed hands again. The newspaper Vedomosti writes about this.

On November 17, the new owner of this facility became the LSR group company "LSR. The basis." She also acquired the rights to lease the land under the hotel.

The building on Tverskaya Street, 10, was built in 1885-1892 by architect Mitrofan Arsenyev for the family of baker Filippov. Initially, in addition to the hotel (then called France), there was a bakery, a pastry shop and a coffee shop. Later, the hotel was renamed Lux, and since 1953 it has been operating under the name Central. Over the years, poet Sergei Yesenin, former Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh, head of the GDR Walter Ulbricht and others stayed there.

In the mid-2000s, the Unikor group of Bedzina Ivanishvili became the owner of the hotel, she planned to rebuild it into a five-star hotel, which was to open under the Mandarin Oriental brand. In 2012, Ivanishvili, who had become Prime Minister of Georgia by that time, sold all his Russian real estate assets, including the Lux Hotel, to Mikhail Gutseriev's Safmar Group. She also wanted to open a five-star hotel there, but the Hilton chain had to manage it.

Seven years later, Viktor Rashnikov, a shareholder of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), and his partner Nader Nader became the new owner of the building. Together with Corinthia Hotels Group, they expected to reconstruct it into an elite apartment complex Tverskaya X Residences By Corinthia on 50 thousand square meters (53 rooms and 116 apartments), but work has not begun. In 2024, the Moscow City Heritage added part of this object to the register of monuments. The owners of the hotel were forced to sell Lux to Alkion JSC. The deal was closed at the end of September.

PJSC LSR Group is a construction company operating in several complementary market segments. The company was established in 1993. LSR Group's business is concentrated in St. Petersburg, Leningrad Region, Moscow, Moscow region, Yekaterinburg, Sochi.
