Unigreen Engineering has started construction of a solar power plant on the territory of the Bystrinsky Mining and Processing complex in Transbaikalia. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in the fall of this year. This is stated in the company's message.

Norilsk Nickel's flagship decarbonization project will reduce indirect energy emissions of greenhouse gases and the carbon footprint of products. Unigreen Engineering implements the project on the terms of an EPC contract (turnkey). The company supplies equipment, performs a complex of installation and commissioning works.

The solar modules will be installed on an area of 1 hectare. The power of one module will be 565 watts, there will be about 1 thousand of them in total. The total capacity of the solar power plant will be at least 518 kW.

During the day, the shift settlement will be supplied with electricity from a solar power plant, and at night from a centralized power supply. Electric energy from the SES will be sent to the internal grid for priority consumption, and the shortage of electricity will be compensated from the grid. A weather station will be installed at the facility, which will monitor the weather conditions.
