A "smart warehouse" of railway wheels is ready to be launched at the new production of Allegro railway wheels, created by EVRAZ and the Rail Service industrial group.
The fully robotic interoperable warehouse is designed for 3,800 wheels, which will place 6 pieces in a stack. Robots will distribute the wheels in the footsteps, depending on the melting, the order of installation and feeding to the next repartitions. Human intervention in the process is minimized. Each item will be automatically tracked. This solution has been applied for the first time in wheel production. The complex was developed and implemented by Tomsk Electronic Company.
The construction readiness of the Allegro plant is 98%. Commissioning works are underway at all sites or the installation of equipment is being completed. Commissioning has already been completed on the output control line and cold cutting saws. An annular heating furnace has been installed, the refractory masonry of the furnace working space has been completed, the installation of air combustion systems is being completed. Electrical installation and installation of electronic systems are carried out on the press rolling line. Hydraulic systems of presses are filled with a force of 5 and 10 thousand tons. The installation of a hydraulic pump, portal and floor robots is underway. The equipment of the heat treatment site was installed as part of a quenching and tempering furnace, four quenching devices.
The plant will use the most modern eco-friendly technologies. A closed cycle of water use with a water treatment system with filtration, chemical purification has been implemented. A system of regenerative heating of waste gases of heating furnaces with secondary heat has been introduced. An oil warehouse is equipped, where oils will be collected and disposed of for recycling. Two railway branches will enter the production shop – for the import of blanks and the export of finished railway wheels. It is also possible to ship wheels by motor transport.
"The new plant is almost ready to launch. We plan to put it into operation in July, by the Metallurgist's Day. This will be the most modern production of railway wheels in Russia, there will be the highest level of automation of processes," said Denis Novozhenov, Vice President of EVRAZ, head of the Ural division.
The area of all production and auxiliary premises is about 26 thousand square meters. meters. The capacity of the enterprise is 200 thousand wheels per year with the possibility of increasing to 300 thousand. Investments in construction amounted to about 18 billion rubles.
The enterprise is being built in the special economic zone "Titanium Valley" in Verkhnyaya Salda. Allegro will work in conjunction with EVRAZ NTMK.
