The American manufacturer of electric airplanes BETA Technologies Inc. plans to hold an IPO in the USA. This is reported in the BETA press release.
Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs are the leading underwriters of the listing on the New York Stock Exchange. TPG Inc., Amazon. com Inc., General Electric and the management of Beta Technologies are among the investors with a share of 5% or more.
BETA Technologies has raised $300 million from General Electric Co. as part of a strategic partnership agreement to develop a hybrid electric turbo generator for long-range vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, signed in early September 2025. The value of BETA was estimated at $4 billion before the deal was concluded.
GE Aerospace, which has a market capitalization of $292.65 billion, plans to combine BETA's expertise in high-performance permanent magnet electric generators with GE Aerospace's turbine technology and certification expertise.
The easing of trade tensions, the resilience of stock markets, and pent-up investor demand have combined to create one of the most favorable conditions for BETA listing, which is taking place against the backdrop of growing offerings in the technology, aerospace, and green energy sectors. Stocks that debuted in the defense sector showed mixed dynamics. Specifically, shares of Karman Holdings Inc. have more than tripled since the February listing, while shares of Firefly Aerospace Inc. have fallen 20% since their August debut.
BETA Technologies is an American company producing electric aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing. In 2024, the company introduced a passenger version of the ALIA and fixed-wing aircraft. The company intends to sell aircraft and chargers to customers in the defense, cargo delivery, and medical logistics industries, including United Therapeutics, UPS, Air New Zealand, and the U.S. Air Force. The headquarters is located in Burlington, Vermont.
