The Government of the Russian Federation has developed a set of new tools to support agriculture. These measures are designed to stabilize prices in the domestic market, including by increasing export potential. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev at a meeting on the situation on the grain market, according to the Cabinet's website.
Currently, another tranche is being prepared to subsidize the transportation of products by rail. It provides for the prolongation of short-term concessional loans, as well as payments under concessional leasing agreements.
In addition, additional subsidies will be allocated for new short-term loans for the purchase of grain from producers.
The Ministry of Agriculture intends to significantly increase the limit per borrower. Grain purchases to the state intervention fund begin in October. Up to 3 million tons will be purchased.
It is also planned to provide direct subsidies to farmers in the form of so-called per-hectare support.
