France, according to forecasts of the US Department of Agriculture, will produce up to 7 million tons of corn in 2026, which is 50% less than in the previous season. This is stated in the message of "Agroexport".
This is the lowest corn harvest in 50 years. The indicator fell due to severe drought and reduction of acreage.
The total corn harvest in the EU will amount to 48.2 million tons, which is 15% less than in the previous season. Meanwhile, imports to the EU in 2026/27 will grow to 23.2 million tons, an increase of 22% compared to the previous agricultural year.
