The Bank of Russia is filing a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court against the Euroclear depository for recovery of losses caused by the Central Bank. This is stated in the press service of the regulator.
The lawsuit is filed in connection with Euroclear's illegal actions causing losses to the Bank of Russia, as well as in connection with the mechanisms officially considered by the European Commission for the direct or indirect use of the Central Bank's assets without its consent.
The actions of the Euroclear depository caused harm to the Bank of Russia due to the inability to dispose of funds and securities belonging to the Central Bank, the report emphasizes.
