In the Russian Federation, in January–March 2026, consumer credit cooperatives (CPC) issued loans worth 12.3 billion rubles. This is 5% less than in the same period of 2025, according to the materials of the Bank of Russia.

In the first quarter of 2026, more than 65% of cooperatives reduced their loans compared to the fourth quarter of 2025.

The reduction in disbursements affected all areas of activity: disbursements in the consumer segment decreased by 35% compared to the previous quarter, and loans to businesses decreased by 26%.

The volume of loans from KPC to citizens returned to the level of the first quarter of 2025 (-0.5% year-on-year) against the background of the curtailment of a number of large cooperatives associated with MFIs, which were subsequently excluded from the state register by the Bank of Russia for repeated violations of the law.

In January-March, KPCS associated with MFIs concluded 2 times fewer loan agreements with individuals than a quarter earlier, and the volume of their disbursements decreased by 47%.

The number of business loan agreements decreased by 2 times over the year. At the same time, due to an increase in the average loan amount to 4 million rubles from 3.1 million rubles, the volume of loans decreased by only a third.
