Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree restricting individuals from exporting over $100,000 in cash to the EAEU from April 1, 2026. The relevant document is posted on the legal information portal.
Individual entrepreneurs set restrictions on the export of cash rubles, regardless of the amount.
Exceptions are provided for the export of currency through checkpoints at international airports, which must be determined by the Government of the Russian Federation. In this case, you must provide a bank statement confirming the withdrawal of funds from the account.
In addition, in accordance with the decree, from May 1, 2025, a ban will be introduced for individuals and organizations to export refined gold in bars weighing more than 100 g to the EAEU. An exception is made for export through Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo international airports, as well as Vladivostok Airport. However, for this it is necessary to have the conclusion of the Federal Assay Chamber.
Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs can export gold outside the EAEU if certain procedures are followed.
