The United Engine Corporation of Rostec State Corporation will build a new mechanical assembly complex in Rybinsk to increase the serial production of the first domestic high-power gas turbines GTD-110M. The launch of new areas will allow mass production of up to four power plants per year from 2028.
The project for the construction of an industrial building with an area of more than 43 thousand square meters will be implemented in the next three years. Design and survey work is currently underway. The start of capital construction of the new mechanical assembly building is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024.
"It will be a spacious, roomy building on the territory of ODK-Saturn, with a closed system for the production and assembly of gas turbine engines, equipped with high-precision equipment. The project plays an important role in ensuring the country's energy security. Currently, the industrial operation of the GTD-110M leader sample continues at the second power unit of the Ivanovo PSU. The first serial unit has been delivered to the Udarnaya thermal power plant in the Krasnodar Territory, where it will solve the problems of energy supply in the south of the country," said Sergey Mikhailov, Deputy General Director of the UEC for Energy and Industrial Programs.
The distinctive features of the high-power gas turbine GTD-110M in comparison with foreign analogues are lower weight and dimensions, as well as high fuel efficiency. Advanced developments and innovative technologies are used in its production, including the manufacture of combustion chamber parts by the additive method.
The engine will be used as part of gas turbine power and combined cycle gas plants with an electric capacity of 115 MW. Previously, turbines of similar capacity were imported from abroad. The first serial GTD-110M is now being prepared for commissioning as part of the Udarnaya thermal power plant. This is the most technically advanced combined-cycle thermal power plant in Russia. Three more GTD-110M turbines will be manufactured and delivered in 2025-26 for the modernization of the Novocherkassk GRES.
A mock-up of the first domestic high-power industrial gas turbine GTD-110M produced by UEC is presented at the unified stand of Rostec State Corporation at the Innoprom-2024 exhibition. It allows you to get acquainted in detail with the operation of the power plant.
The International Industrial Exhibition Innoprom takes place in Yekaterinburg from July 8 to 11. The organizers are the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Government of the Sverdlovsk region.
