The Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation has updated the data of the Unified Register of Small and Medium-sized Businesses.

In its message, the agency notes that now the Unified Register of SMEs is formed on the basis of information:

  • on income and the average number of employees of companies and individual entrepreneurs in 2025,
  • Unified State Register of Legal Entities (Unified State Register of Legal Entities),
  • The Unified State Register of Individual Entrepreneurs (USRIP);
  • from other government agencies and authorized organizations.

The updated register contains data on 6.6 million small and medium-sized businesses, which is 3.5% more than it was on July 10, 2025.

At the same time, the share of existing legal entities and individual entrepreneurs in the total number of entries is 81.8%, which is 0.7% higher than in 2025.

The Federal Tax Service also reported that over the past six months of 2026, 78.8 million requests were recorded to the information of the Unified Register of SMEs. Its use helps the government to support small and medium–sized businesses more effectively, and companies and entrepreneurs to choose reliable counterparties.

Earlier, experts from the Federal Tax Service recommended that organizations and sole proprietors check their status information after updating the registry. If it is not included in the register in accordance with the criteria established by law, it is necessary to ensure the timely submission of tax reports, the information of which is used in the formation of the register.
