Yandex has introduced its first device in the security category, a smart IP camera. It broadcasts video in real time, saves recordings to a memory card or to the cloud, and if it notices movement or a person in the frame, it sends a notification to the user's phone. The camera will help you keep an eye on the house during your vacation or for your pet while everyone is at work.
An IP camera can be integrated into the ecosystem of a smart home — the Home with Alice app and Wi-Fi are enough to connect. The user can control the device via the app or voice commands to Alice. Camera streaming is available at any time — on your phone, TV Station or Station screen Duo Max. You can use the camera in existing smart home scenarios or create new ones. So, with the phrase "Alice, I'm leaving", the light in the apartment will go out, and the camera will start recording so that the user can make sure at any time that everything is in order at home.
The device records at a resolution of up to 2K QHD, and the image remains clear even when broadcasting to the TV Station's big screen. The camera's viewing angle is 103º, which is enough to cover a wide area in the frame. The 350° rotation mechanism allows you to change the shooting direction directly from the app, for example, to see what is happening in another part of the room.
Video from the camera can be saved to a memory card or in the cloud if you have a subscription. The device can record continuously or only when motion or a person is detected in the frame.
The camera can be easily turned off in the application either by voice on the command "Alice, turn on privacy mode" or "Alice, turn off the camera". You can also set a scenario for this action, for example, for the camera to automatically turn off and turn away at 19:00 or after the phrase "Alice, I'm home." There is a Mute button on the device body, the same as on the Yandex Stations. If you press it, the camera will turn off the lens and turn off the microphone completely. You can turn it on only by pressing the button again.
