The Federal Antimonopoly Service has sent a warning to Apple. This is reported on the website of the Antimonopoly authority.

The corporation must eliminate discriminatory conditions for Russian search engines and comply with the requirements for pre-installation of domestic software on iOS devices. In particular, we are talking about the national messenger, as well as the domestic app store.

On Apple devices with the iOS operating system (iPhone, iPad), a foreign search engine is installed by default.

To use Russian search engines, the user manually changes the settings. This creates discriminatory conditions for domestic developers and leads to infringement of the rights and interests of an indefinite circle of consumers, the antimonopoly service emphasizes.

In accordance with Russian legislation, technically complex goods sold in the Russian Federation should be able to work by default with a Russian search engine or a search engine of another EAEU member state.

If Apple does not comply with the warning, the FAS will initiate a case. As a result of its review, the corporation may be fined 4 billion rubles.

Apple is a developer of personal and tablet computers, audio players, smartphones, software and digital content. The corporate headquarters is located in California.
