The East Siberian Oil and Gas Company (part of the Rosneft oil production complex) has successfully applied a two-column structure at the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field for drilling an oil well in formations with an extensive gas cap. The innovation will allow speeding up the construction of wells for 5 days, with an economic effect of up to 40 million rubles per well.
In the Namakar deposit of the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field, the gas reservoir reaches a capacity of up to 100 meters. Previously, the gas cap was isolated during drilling using a third column. The new design is characterized by the presence of only two casing columns and the longer length of one of them. During the pilot work, it was possible to cover the gas cap interval with an elongated production line.
The positive results of the pilot work, based on engineering calculations by specialists, laid the foundation for replicating the two-column structure at 20 wells still planned for drilling in the Namakar reservoir. The key effect is to accelerate the commissioning of wells and reduce capital and operating costs.
The development of technological potential is one of the key elements of Rosneft's 2030 strategy. The Company prioritizes innovation, identifying technological leadership as a key factor of competitiveness in the oil market.
