RT-Medtech Company of Rostec State Corporation presented the first Russian single-chamber MRI compatible pacemaker Apollo MRI SR at the International Bioprom Forum. The development expands the range of domestic solutions for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and gives patients the opportunity to undergo magnetic resonance imaging.

The Apollo MRI SR manufactured by Cardioelectronics (part of RT-Medtech, Rostec State Corporation) is designed to stimulate the right atrium or right ventricle, while a two-chamber pacemaker provides stimulation of both chambers of the heart. This is the first domestic single-chamber pacemaker that enables patients to undergo MRI diagnostics. Its introduction into clinical practice will expand the possibilities of treating patients with diagnosed arrhythmias. The start of mass production of the product is scheduled for 2027.

"We want our products to allow patients to live actively and for a long time. This work is already yielding tangible results: last year, about 8,000 pacemakers were delivered to medical institutions. These are Russian developments that help to achieve independence from the supply of imported medical products. In the future, the company will continue to work on the modernization of pacemakers, reducing their size and developing consumer functions," said Roman Gorokhov, CEO of Cardioelectronics.

At the end of last year, Cardioelectronics launched the first Russian two-chamber MRI compatible pacemaker, the Apollo MRI DR. To date, more than 200 such devices have been delivered to Russian clinics.

Cardioelectronics products are created in close cooperation with the medical community. The company regularly collects feedback from practitioners — representatives of about 20 medical institutions take part in the surveys. Thus, when developing the single-chamber Apollo MRI SR, recommendations on the need for more precise device settings were taken into account, taking into account the individual physiological characteristics of the patient. The automatic sensitivity algorithm has been improved for this purpose.

The International Forum "Bioprom: industry and Technologies for Humans" is being held in Gelendzhik from October 5 to 6. The title partner is Rostec State Corporation. The key event in the medical industry brought together the leading players in the biotechnology, medicine, and pharmaceutical markets. The Forum is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
