RFP Group has opened a new plant for the production of coniferous (larch) structural plywood in the Khabarovsk territory of Advanced Development (TOP) under an agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic. The volume of investments in the project amounted to over 4.7 billion rubles. The design capacity of the enterprise is up to 120 thousand cubic meters of plywood per year. The new production is focused on the markets of Russia and Southeast Asia. The company has created over 200 jobs.
Over 80% of the new plant's equipment was manufactured in Russia, and the Proletarian Freedom Plant, located in Yaroslavl, was the main technological partner in the project.
"The plywood plant has become the next step of the RFP Group to deepen woodworking, after the creation of three previous plants: for the production of lumber, veneer and fuel pellets. The project was implemented with state support and under an agreement with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic," said Viktor Berdnikov, CEO of RFP Group.
"Structural plywood is a product that makes it possible to create the greatest value for consumers from larch, the most common wood species in the Far East. In this regard, our project is truly "Far Eastern". Relying on a Russian technology partner made it possible to implement the project in the face of sanctions," said Roman Romanovsky, Director of Development at RFP Group.
According to Sergey Skalia, Deputy General Director for Investment Project Support at KRDV, the implementation by RFP Group of its fourth project, a new plywood production plant, shows that the TOP tools are working and creating comfortable conditions for scaling business, as well as building sustainable import–substituting technological chains.
"We see serious plans of the investor to create deep processing of wood in the Far East and, for our part, provide the RFP Group with all necessary support. KRDV intends to continue making efforts for the dynamic development of the group's enterprises and the implementation of new investment projects," he stressed Sergey Skali.
