In August, banks issued mortgages for 377.06 billion rubles

In August 2025, banks issued 86.57 thousand mortgage loans worth 377.06 billion rubles. This was announced by the United Credit Bureau. 

Mortgage loans from banks that transmit data to the OKB are taken into account, for which contracts have been signed and the bank has actually transferred funds to customer accounts this month. In some cases, the discrepancy between the date of signing the agreement and the transfer of funds may be up to 180 days.

Year-on-year, the number of withdrawals remained virtually unchanged, with the volume increasing by 6%. In August 2024, 86.35 thousand mortgage loans worth 355.75 billion rubles were issued. The average mortgage loan size for the year increased by 240 thousand rubles: in August 2024 it amounted to 4.12 million rubles, in August 2025 — 4.36 million rubles. The average mortgage loan term has become shorter by 7 months to 261 months.

Compared to the results of July, the number and volume of housing loans issued in August increased by 5%. In July 2025, 82.42 thousand mortgages worth 360.5 billion rubles were issued. The average loan size has hardly changed: in July it was 4.37 million rubles. The average loan term remained unchanged.

In August, new housing accounted for 41% of the total and 55% of the total mortgage loans. The average loan amount for the purchase of an apartment in a new building was 5.66 million rubles, the average loan term was 318 months.

The average mortgage for the purchase of housing in the secondary market amounted to 3.31 million rubles in August, with an average term of 235 months.
