The share of the creative economy in Russia's GDP in 2025 reached 4.2%

The gross value added of the creative economy in 2025 amounted to 8.26 trillion rubles. The share of the creative sector in Russia's GDP reached 4.2% by the end of 2025. This is reported in the materials of the Ministry of Economic Development.

According to Rosstat, the largest contribution to the formation of the gross value added of the creative economy in 2025 was provided by software development — 39.29%, advertising and PR — 15.08%, performing arts — 11.31%. Architecture and urbanism also made a significant contribution — 6.97%, gastronomy — 6.22%, recreation and entertainment — 4.72%, media and mass media — 4.4%, movies and TV series — 3.56%.

The contribution of the creative economy to GDP in 2017 was 2.8% or 2.3 trillion rubles, in 2020 — 3.2% (3.1 trillion rubles), in 2023 — 3.8% (6 trillion rubles), in 2024 - 3.9%, according to updated data from Rosstat.
